hello my name is xiao. i was born in 1995. in the dawn of the internet age. i saw the change of the internet before my eyes, from a time before there was to the time there was. it was an interesting time to be alive in, split between two realms, a test subject to the new medium, with all its psychological and social effects. i used msn messenger when if first came out, never aol though i received free aol cds in the mail all the time. i grew up with free cds in cereal boxes. in a time there was no youtube. my first phone was a razer, silver with a dragon decal. i spent a lot of time on neopets, i learned html there (~2005) before giving away all my potions and closing my account. i had a game boy sp, red. i still do, its actually sitting right next to me. i saw the web age unfold to what it is today. . . and grew quite tired of it. social media and commercial-ization and ads and data minimg obstructed the fun of the internet... so i made this neocities. i hope it can serve as a bridge between the past and present, connect with those who are creating and contributing in sincere ways, and ultimately help me be myself. to the future/ and respecting the past, Xiaoyin
